NCME Diversity Issues in Testing Scholarship Awards for the Classroom Assessment Conference
The NCME Committee on Diversity Issues in Testing (CODIT) is pleased to announce the 2026 Diversity Issues in Testing Scholarship Awards for NCME’s Classroom Assessment Conference, which will be held November 12–14 in Bloomington, Minnesota. Through the generous support of the Spencer Foundation, CODIT will recognize scholars whose work advances diversity, equity, inclusion, and fairness in educational measurement.
Each scholarship recipient will receive $1,500, and awardees will be recognized at the 2026 Classroom Assessment Conference.
About the Awards
CODIT’s mission is to promote awareness of the challenges, opportunities, and approaches to assessing individuals from diverse backgrounds and to encourage the active involvement of individuals from a variety of experiences, communities, and perspectives in educational measurement. These scholarship awards support that mission by recognizing work that contributes to fair, valid, and equitable assessment practices.
Any proposal accepted for presentation at the 2026 Classroom Assessment Conference—regardless of session type—is eligible for consideration.
Scholarship Review Process
All proposals accepted for presentation at the 2026 Classroom Assessment Conference will be considered for the Diversity Issues in Testing Scholarship Awards. Following proposal acceptance, the CODIT scholarship review committee will review accepted submissions and identify presentations that align with the award’s purpose of advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, fairness, and access in educational measurement.
In making its selections, the committee may consider whether the work:
- Benefits or includes diverse populations;
- Advances fair and valid measurement for all students;
- Addresses issues of equity, access, or inclusion; and/or
- Demonstrates a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the field.
Scholarship review occurs only after proposals have been accepted for the conference program and does not affect proposal acceptance decisions.
