NCME Opens Board of Directors Nomination Period for 2026 Election
This year’s Nominating Committee (Amy Hendrickson, Ye Tong, and Debbie Durrence) requests the nominations of fellow NCME members to set the election slate for three-year terms for the NCME Board of Directors. We request your input on candidates for three board roles as specified in our NCME Bylaws:
- Board Member Serving as Vice President / President Elect
- Board Member Serving in a Local Educational Agency
- Board Member at Large
We will consider all nominations submitted by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on October 30, 2026. Voting members will receive ballots in mid-December, and ballots will be due in mid-January. The three elected directors will begin their three-year terms in April 2027.
NCME is a strong organization well-positioned to have a positive impact on scholarship and society at a pivotal moment for measurement science and practice. To facilitate an open and engaged nominating period over the weeks to come, the window for nominations encompasses the submission deadline to our 2027 Annual Meeting in Toronto (due September 13) and our upcoming Artificial Intelligence in Measurement in Education Conference (AIME-Con) in Pittsburgh (October 5-7). We will host an open meeting during this window to field questions and feedback about the process at a time to be announced.
We encourage members to nominate fellow members or to nominate themselves. Members may consider several factors as they advance nominations and priorities, including:
- The experience and expertise of possible nominees.
- Possible nominees’ past demonstrated commitment, involvement, and leadership in NCME and similar professional organizations.
- Current opportunities and challenges in measurement science and practice.
