National Assessment Governing Board Seeks Board Nominations
The National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB) is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Board members to govern the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
On NAGB, three specific seats are dedicated to Testing and Measurement Experts. Two seats will open this year. Board members serve a four-year term and may be reappointed for a second term.
Starting in 2019, as part of the NCME initiative to make a bigger impact in educational policy, the NCME board began to nominate a few of our members to NAGB for consideration for the Testing and Measurement Expert seat. NCME members Suzanne Lane, Scott Marion, and Guillermo Solano-Flores now serve in the Testing and Measurement Expert role for NAGB.
The NCME board will be making nominations again this year. If you are a current NCME member and would like to be considered to be nominated by NCME, please send your letter of interest and CV to ncme@ncme.org by October 15. NAGB nominations are due on November 1. Applicants should have a doctoral degree and extensive experience in the field of psychometrics and testing in education, actively working in the field. The board is particularly seeking applicants whose experience includes sampling, technical operations, deep knowledge of NAEP, and demonstrated expertise to communicate assessments to broader audiences.
If you are interested in self-nominating or nominating others or if you would like to find out more about NAGB, please visit https://www.nagb.gov/governing-board/join-the-board.html.
