NCME Presidential Task Force Public Commentary Phase

Update: The article was updated with a new commentary phase timeline. Please advise this will not open until Monday, March 16.

The NCME Presidential Task Force on the Role of Educational Measurement in the Protection and Advancement of Civil Rights (the Task Force) is excited to share the process and timeline for welcoming public comments on their draft manuscript. This public commentary phase will run from Monday, March 16 through Thursday, May 21. This timeline was chosen to ensure that the public has sufficient time to share their feedback. More details on the public commentary phase can be found below.

The Task Force will also present a session at the NCME Annual Meeting on Friday, April 10 from 3:30–5 p.m. in the Wilshire Ballroom III at the NCME hotel. This session will focus on the Task Force’s work by offering a brief overview of their work and findings, before guiding participants through a scenario-based workshop that primes participants to draft concrete recommendations for NCME, their own institutions, or policy bodies. These recommendations will be compiled into a “Next Steps” memo to be shared with the full Task Force and the NCME Board.
