New Journal Available to NCME Members
NCME is pleased to announce that NCME members may now access the journal Educational Assessment for free through the NCME website, marking the formalization of an agreement between NCME and Taylor & Francis to promote high quality research on classroom assessment.
The NCME Classroom Assessment Committee (CAC) has worked for over two years to arrange an outlet for high-quality research on classroom summative and formative assessment. CAC began a collaboration with Educational Assessment, announced at the Classroom Assessment Conference in September 2024, that resulted in the publication of the Special Issue on Classroom Assessment in spring 2025. The special issue was guest edited by former NCME CAC members Caroline Wylie, Michele Carney, Renae Pullen, Mark Wilson and Alison Bailey.
Complete access to Educational Assessment, including back issues, is now free for all NCME members using the portal once logged into your NCME account. A special feature of the relationship is the new Educator Notes section of the NCME website. Selected published articles on classroom assessment in Educational Assessment will be invited to write a companion piece extending and exemplifying ideas for educators and other practitioners.
NCME members are encouraged to use Educational Assessment as an outlet for classroom assessment scholarship, including an upcoming special issue on formative uses of classroom observation tools and systems guest edited by Courtney Bell and Drew Gitomer. The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to 19 January, 2026.
NCME continues to prioritize high-quality research across all of NCME journals—the Journal of Educational Measurement, Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, and the Chinese/English Journal of Educational Measurement and Evaluation—and we are pleased to expand our reach and member benefits through this exciting new relationship with Educational Assessment.
