SUMMARY:Principles and Practices in Recently Established Score Scales for Medical Achievement Tests
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is from the Scaling\, Linking\, and Equating SIGIMIE. \n\n\n\nReporting scales are one of the most visible and widely used parts of a testing program. Many different criteria and methods can influence how they are designed\, sometimes in competing ways. The key is to bring principles and practices together—so the scales not only support valid score interpretations and uses\, but also help prevent misinterpretations and misuses. In this presentation\, we share how we integrated principles with practical decisions when establishing reporting scales for a battery of medical achievement tests. We’ll talk about the program’s purpose\, methodologies conducted\, challenges encountered\, and show how aligning principles with practice shaped the design and implementation of the scales. \n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\nJinghua Liu (jliu@nbome.org)

SUMMARY:Is There Methodological Synergy in Mixed- or Multi-Method Strategies in Measurement Research?
DESCRIPTION:This event is being organized by the NCME Graduate Student Issues Committee.  \n\n\n\nMixed and multi-method approaches are gaining momentum in psychometrics\, offering innovative ways to strengthen validity\, address complex measurement challenges\, and promote fairness and equity. This 30–40 minute panel will feature leading scholars discussing the promise\, challenges\, and future of these approaches in the field. \n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\nPanelists\n\n\n\n\nDr. Thao Vo\n\n\n\nDr. Bruno Zumbo\n\n\n\nDr. Stephen Sireci\n\n\n\n\nTogether\, they will reflect on how they conceptualize and apply mixed and multi-method approaches in psychometric research\, the barriers to integrating these methods\, and what emerging scholars should learn—or unlearn—to advance this work. The panel will also explore how artificial intelligence can be meaningfully incorporated into mixed-method research to support equitable and just measurement practices. \n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\nSarah Hammami (shammami2@huskers.unl.edu)
