This award honors living persons whose publications, presentations, and professional activities over a career have had a widespread positive impact on the field of educational measurement. These contributions may include theoretical or technical developments, service to professional organizations, conceptualizations of educational measurement that have enhanced public understanding of measurement problems, applications of theory that have influenced the nature of educational tests and measurement, or innovative ideas that have significantly affected measurement practices. Award recipients receive a check for $1,000 and a commemorative plaque from NCME. In addition, recipients are invited to present an address at the next year’s NCME Annual Meeting.
Call for Nominations
Nominations should be made by an NCME member. Non-winning nominations from previous years will be reviewed for eligibility, and if appropriate will be considered for the 2012 year’s award.
A nomination package must include: (a) a 1-2 page summary of the nature, significance, and impact of the nominee’s contribution to the field of educational measurement; and (b) an up-to-date copy of the nominee’s vita. The nominator and the nominee agree that this work will not be nominated for a similar award in AERA and that the nominee will not be nominated for additional NCME awards that will be given during the 2012 Annual Meeting. Submit an electronic version of the nomination package or eight (8) copies of all materials by November 30, 2011 to:
